Trade infrastructure, built in Ghana for West Africa.
Miziba exists because agricultural trade in the region does not lack buyers, suppliers or banks. It lacks a record all three can rely on.
Registered in Ghana. Records in English and French.
Why we built it.
Miziba’s founder has spent years moving shea, cashew, sesame and soya out of northern Ghana, and years on the other side of the table in institutional finance.
From both sides the problem looked the same. A trader with a good buyer could not get the order funded, because the bank could not see the goods. A bank with money to lend could not see the trade, so it asked for collateral the trader did not have. The weights, seals and handovers that would have settled the question happened out of sight, and nobody kept them in one place.
So we built the record first, and made sure its keeper could have no stake in what it says.
Leadership.
Further appointments, including an independent advisory board, will be named here as they are confirmed.
